For the New Year...

It seems like everybody's expecting somebody else to to do all the work but I'm telling you right now that things will get worse unless we do something about it right now. The next couple of months will be hectic with the election campaign in full swing and the pressure of the current economic crisis hitting us full force. Nothing will make me feel better if this election produces a city council that's more responsive to the needs of  their constituents. What are the odds of that happening, anyways? Slim to none perhaps, but I can dream can't I? I'll tell you right now that nothing's ever going to get better unless we use the power of the ballot box to elect people who will do what's right by us.

20011 will be a year of change in he city of Carson, whether we like it or not. Unless we force a change in the makeup of the City Council, it will be deja vu all over again. I'm ready for a change, are you?

What We Need Now is Leadership.

I'm getting sick and tired of listening to people complain about what is not being done by the politicians. these are the same people who doesn't even have a clue about what's going on in their city nor do they care. All they do is bitch, bitch, and bitch some more. To be perfectly honest, I'm getting to the point where I may take things into my own hands. I don't plan on running for public office next year, but there's always 2013.

I believe that we can do better than we're doing right now, but there needs to be a systematic change in the way the city is run. Members of this City Council needs to be taught a lesson, and if it take drastic changes in the way this city is organized, then so be it.

HOW WE CAN SAVE OUR CITY

I hate to sound condecending, but our city needs us. Our elected officials connot do it alone. I don't believe for one moment that they have the courage to do the right thing by us. In fact, I don't trust them. Nor do I trust any of the other prospective candidates. I beleive that there needs to be a new focus and a new direction that the city must take before we can see any daylight. If it means wholesale changes in the makeup of the City Council, then so be it. That includes the mayor also. Does that mean that I'll run for public office? I'll answer that by saying, "Never say never". Don't ask me when either, because I hope that thing won't get that bad in the near future.

Citizens of Carson, it's up to us to save our city. It's one thing for me to point
problems out. It's quite another to come up with the solutions to solve them. Collectively, we must come up with solutions to make our city the best it can be. If you think this is going to be a walk in the park, then you're sadly mistaken.

I'm not just blowing smoke. We can make Carson the best city in the South Bay. But, it's going to take the best effort of all of us to accomplish our goals
